Anslem Ifill: Army Man Ordered Deported
Breakthrough has submitted a question from Anslem Ifill, a member of Families for Freedom, to the CNN/YouTube Debates. If selected, Anslem's question will be asked to the Republican Candidates on November 28, 2007- this year's Repbulican debate.

Anslem is a Legal Permanent Resident from Trinidad and Tobago. After living in the United States for 25 years, it is his home. So much so that he put his own life at risk to serve this country for eight years with the U.S Army, including the first Gulf War.

Upon returning he committed a crime and served out his sentence. Instead of being released he was detained for several years and now faces deportation. After September 11th, the law changed and those in the military can apply for citizenship, however this is not the case for military men and women such as Anslem, who served before this time.
